Went in for a diagnostic. Had a grinding sound over by the starter and the car wasnt turning over at all. They told me that my engine was done for (claimed bent valves on a non intergerence engine), and i may as well get a new engine. I told them that didn't sound right, and they said their mechanic claims the car is turning over fine, its just the bent valves that's the problem. So I went out of my busy day, to drive over there to visually see if the mechanic was right. When I get there, Evan and Tim(I think was the mechanics name) are both SHOCKED when I show them that the car is NOT turning over. The mechanic ASSUMED it was turning over without VISUALLY INSPECTING that the crankshaft was not moving one bit. I was dumbfounded and they just said they're gonna have to look at the car once again. A day later they called me and told me the REAL problem with my car. Broken flexplate. I'm glad I know a decent amount on cars, because if I didn't, I would be thinking my entire car needs completely new engine! Overall they are nice people, just need to have some more attention to detail when they're doing their work. Paid 160 for a diagnosis. Quoted 1200 for the full service which seems somewhat reasonable. I decided to go ahead and do it myself.
