I've lived in a lot of different cities and one of the most difficult things to find in a new town is a trustworthy mechanic. It took us 5 years to find one in Cincinnati, 9 years to find one in Phoenix, we never found one in Northern California, but only 4 months to find one here in Eugene, OR. As soon as I walked through the door at Joe's, I felt at home. I've only done one or two reviews in my entire life, but this time I felt compelled to let Darrin (and everyone else there) know that I appreciate the way they do business. What is rare to find and special when you do, is people who actually listen to you describe your issue AND try to provide valuable feedback about how to avoid a recurrence in the future. This is a family owned business that has been in the community for 60+ years and it shows. As long as I live around here, I'll come to Joe's Garage.

The crew always does a great job repairing exactly what was discussed. When they find other issues, there is no sales pitch to come back in and spend more money unless the issue is urgent.

Customer service is excellent. Got an email of their inspection with photos to illustrate the work needed. Their shuttle service allowed me to pick up the car during the day (otherwise would have needed to pay by phone & have husband drive me there after work.) I noticed on pick-up that they had "customer declined" on the invoice for an axle that I had asked to have done. As this was in addition to other major engine work, and there were a few phone calls, I was not upset that it was overlooked. Larry remedied this right away with their "Subaru Guru" and had the work done in just half an hour.
